Puppy Boot Camp - Board & Train

$175 per day

For the duration of this intensive training program, your puppy will live in the home of trainers
Jeff and Heather Hill, thereby receiving round the clock care, attention - and lots of affection, too! Boot Campers are kept in a fun and challenging routine of training, socialization, potty, mealtimes and sleep. Click here to see photos of their safe and immaculate home and property.

• Three private obedience training sessions,  which include: "place", "sit", "stay", "wait" "lay down", and "come/touch"

• One 30-minute leash training walk in the 64-acre park adjacent to their property. The park is filled with a variety of distractions, activities and environmental stimuli, which makes it an ideal location for leash training.

• One "Play-Training" session: a group session that's a combination of playtime and off-leash obedience training. Every evening, the Boot Campers participate in a fun session of agility, fetch and tug - combined with frequent "quizzes" on their obedience skills while they're distracted with play.

• All day long, they work on domestic issues such as: housebreaking, nipping, jumping, chewing, nuisance barking, overall manners, "leave it" and "drop it".

• Supervised socialization throughout the day, both indoors and outside in the yard

• Two (or three) mealtimes per day - each dog eats in their own private space

• Crate training at night - and also for one or two naps per day

• Swimming (twice weekly if requested)

Board-and-Train Boot Camp Also Includes:

• A training session and home set up when your pup is brought home after Boot Camp
• On demand phone, text, photo and/or video updates throughout the duration of Boot Camp
• A bath, blow dry and brush
• Unlimited follow-up phone consultations once Boot Camp is completed

NOTE: For the safety of the tiniest pups, there is a weight limit of 20 lbs. for board-and-train students.

1) Schedule a visit to Jeff and Heather's home. They will give you a tour of their house and property and evaluate your pup's behavior at that time. They will discuss their program and answer any questions you may have. There is no charge for the visit and it takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

2) Complete and sign the Sit Fit & Trained contract. Click  here  to download and print the contract.

3) Your pet must be in good health and fully up-to-date with all shots. A copy of immunization records, proof of rabies license and clear results of a recent fecal exam must be submitted along with the contract.

4) For the health and safety of your pet, Jeff and Heather keep their home immaculately clean. Therefore, they request that your pet please be freshly bathed prior to boarding - and free of fleas, ticks and mites.

5) To keep your pet's diet and eliminations consistent, please provide their food and written feeding instructions.

How long are training sessions? One hour (though sometimes longer - and that's OK!)

Do you offer sessions on weekends? Always!

What is your service area? We service all cities in Palm Beach County and northern Broward County, however the training fee is slightly higher for those cities outside the 20 mile radius of our home base in Boynton Beach.

Do you require the purchase of a series of sessions? We don’t believe in financially committing clients to packages of training sessions. Our reason is: many issues can be solved in merely one session - so why make clients pay for additional training they don’t need? If clients find their dog needs additional training in the future, they can always schedule another appointment.

I have multiple dogs. Can you train all of them in the same session - or do I need separate sessions for each? Most of the time, all of the dogs in a household can be trained in the same session.

Do you offer any group classes? At this time, we do not offer group classes.

At what age should my puppy come to Bootcamp? Much depends upon the maturity of the pup, but in general, the younger the better - before any bad habits become firmly ingrained. We train pups as young as 8 weeks, provided they have received their 2nd round of shots.

Do you require a minimum amount of days or weeks? We do not require a time frame, but we suggest a minimum of 10 days for typical obedience training, domestication and potty training. However, for a completely untrained puppy, we recommend 14-21 days - or more.

What if my puppy learns exceptionally quickly - or takes longer to train than estimated? Can I shorten or lengthen training camp? Yes! This is one of the reasons why we stay in close touch with owners during training, so they always know how their pup is progressing. If things are moving along at an accelerated pace, we will definitely "graduate" the puppy early. However, if we all agree that the pup could use more time, we can take it day-by-day until a higher level of achievement has been accomplished.

How many training puppies do you take at once? We only accept 1-2 trainers within a block of time.

What is the process for getting my pup into Bootcamp? The first step is to set up a meet-and-greet in our home. We need to perform an evaluation of the puppy to be sure our program is a good fit. Additionally, prior to admission, we require that all pups have had a recent checkup with their vet, a fecal test (with results negative for any parasites or worms) and they must be fully up-to-date with all vaccines.

Can I visit during training? Though we stay in touch with clients (via text, email, calls, photos and videos) throughout the duration of training, we truly understand that they really miss their pets! Therefore, for pups enrolled for 14 days or more, owner(s) can make an appointment to come visit mid-way through training.

Can you train my two puppies at the same time? Yes, we can do that. However, in some instances, it’s actually better to train one pup at a time. Several variables determine which would be the best route to go.

After Bootcamp has ended, do you teach me how to reinforce everything? When we bring pups home, we take as much time as the owners need to explain the reinforcement techniques. Additionally, we provide a detailed report, which lists their pup's accomplishments and daily routine. We then remain available by phone, text, or email for any questions or concerns going forward. Should clients want to further advance their dog's skills, additional in-home training sessions can be scheduled.

Why do you have a 20-pound weight limit for your board-and-train program? Because we specialize in puppy training, we set this limit for the safety of those especially tiny ones. Unlike many other training programs, we do not kennel our trainers in between sessions. Instead, they are socialized with their fellow trainers and boarders throughout the day. Proper supervised socialization is of utmost importance in a puppy’s development, and a priceless part of our program.
